Süddeutsche Zeitung: Software Patent Directive a shame for the EU

At the end of an article on free software in the german newspaper Süddeutsche Zeitung, the author Stefan Maus comes down hard on the directive proposal of the European Council and Commission.

"It is a shame for the European Union to decide to put out the light for this collective cultural accomplishment by means of software patents. It is as if a a dumb tyrant of the middle ages had melted down Gutenberg's printing press."

Süddeutsche Zeitung is, together with Frankfurter Allgemeine, one of two leading daily quality newspaper in Germany.
